The Missing Link in Healthcare: Posture and Balance
Our method of restoring three-dimensional balance to your body is unlike anything available in healthcare to date. Few practitioners and even doctors recognize or acknowledge the vital importance of posture for our health and performance. The human body craves alignment, and proper body function depends on it.
Without proper alignment, your body will always be working against itself in everyday tasks and will eventually wear and break down. Over time, we see this resulting in pain and your body not working properly. This is why we state that your posture is directly proportional to your health.
The human skeletal frame was designed to stand upright and balanced. In this position, your body works well, like it’s supposed to. When your skeletal frame is damaged, through traumatic events and lifestyle stressors, the body breaks down and can no longer support itself in an upright position.
Many people, even doctors, don’t recognize this breakdown and if they do, dismiss it as poor posture. We recognize this three-dimensional structural breakdown and understand the devastating effects this plays on your overall health, including both neurological (nerve) and structural (muscles, discs, bones) problems in the body. Your body does not work well in an imbalanced position, often resulting in pain and/or health problems. We can see the effects of the structural breakdown in multiple ways.
Fortunately our body has an incredible innate intelligence and it will always move in the direction of healing, as long as it has the resources to do so. When you find yourself stuck, sick or hurting you’ve likely exceeded your body’s resources to heal effectively. We provide that resource for your body. We do not heal you, only your body can do that. We, however, facilitate the healing process within you.
Our bones, not our muscles, were intended to support our weight.
A misaligned spine creates chronic muscle tension, as the weight and composition of the body causes the muscles, instead of the bones, to overcompensate for this imbalance. This effect becomes more pronounced the further your posture deviates away from alignment. When we are misaligned, the weight of gravity forces our body to recruit muscles for balance, and to support our weight.
A misaligned spine, or poor body balance, distorts the alignment of bones, creating chronic tension muscles and spasm, resulting in a chronic, stressful state to the body, loss of vital lung capacity, increased fatigue, reduced blood and oxygen to the brain, limited range of motion, joint pain, hip pain, a variety of pain syndromes, reduced mental alertness, and decreased productivity at work are all common things we see in resulting from these full body imbalances.
When we function in a structurally balanced frame, this reduces your body’s unnecessary effort and strain. When we are properly balanced, we feel healthier, have more energy, and move gracefully.
But that’s only the tip of the iceberg. More importantly, we function better because our structure dictates function. Feeling better and having more energy is a byproduct of your body functioning better.
Proper body balance and alignment ranks at the top of the health priority list, just as important as eating right, exercising, getting proper rest and proper detoxification. Without proper alignment, you cannot truly be physically fit. In fact, you actually damage your spine every time you exercise in an unbalanced frame.
You are only as healthy as your body is aligned and balanced.
